Why do I love Lied? beacuse it is the best genre of all genres, because it is the most intimate jewel, because the connection between poetry and music, voice and piano, is the best thing in the world.


BIOGRAFIE:

Sybille Diethelm graduated from the Hochschule für Musik & Theater in Munich with a soloist's diploma as concert and opera singer. In adddition, she studied musicology and germanistics at the University of Zurich (lic.phil.). She has been awarded prizes in many competitions. She sang her first operatic roles at the Prinzregententheater in Munich, and she was a guest singer at the theatres of  Ingolstadt, Nuremberg and Bayreuth. Performances of Bach's Passions according to St. John and St. Matthew under the direction of Helmuth Rilling were some of the most important and affecting experiences of her career. Her love for Art Song is witnessed by two CD recordings. Since 2009 she has been a member of the ensemble of the Origen Festival Cultural, where she has already sung in numerous operatic priductions.
